Commitment to
Character

Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on a promise to serve not only one another but the greater community as well. This commitment reflects a philosophy of friendship, concern, and usefulness in the world.

Commitment to
Dignity

Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Commitment to
College Loyalty

From collegiate years on through alumnae involvement, the reason AOIIs continue service is the joy of spending time together and sharing the insights learned from the relationships we build and sustain.

Letter from the President

Welcome to the Tau Gamma chapter at Eastern Washington University! This site is for anyone wanting to learn more about our sisters. Our chapter does many activities on campus such as Philanthropic events, Sisterhoods, and getting to know and supporting other chapters on campus. We have a few main philanthropy events we do. One is our Pi Day events, we pair up with the Arthritis Foundation and do activities such as Pi-a-Pi or AOII’s Selling Pi where all of our proceeds go to the Arthritis Foundation. The next main event we do is Smash Out Arthritis which is an annual ‘Rage Room’ that our chapter hosts. Both events assist in raising money for our National Philanthropy for the Arthritis Foundation. We also have various sisterhood activities where we grow together, create lifelong bonds and memories. Our chapter loves to interact with the other Greek organizations on campus through socials and supporting their philanthropies.
I joined as a freshman in the Fall of 2021 through a formal recruitment process. I have been in the chapter since I was a freshman and I am going into my junior year! During recruitment I was able to talk to some women in AOII who were genuine with me, they showed me their true selves, and were so kind to me. I am beyond grateful I made the decision to stay at EWU, go through recruitment, and join AOII because I have met my best friends, I have gained many leadership experiences, and I have had the opportunity to find confidence in myself. My amazing sisters are always lifting me up and inspiring me to be the best version of myself. Through the positions I have held I have gained experience to be in the president role, I am extremely grateful to serve my chapter and so thankful that my chapter put their trust in me. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity and experience that AOII has given me. Being a part of something bigger than yourself and acquiring problem-solving skills, time management skills and memories that will last a lifetime, nothing is better than that. I know in my heart that AOII can bring all this and more to your college experience and life after college!
I urge you to find the chapter that is right for you! My sisters and I appreciate you visiting our website to find out more about us. We hope that it will give you an insight into who we are as a chapter and why we chose to be an AOII for life.
